TWEENS AND TEENS
As the tween and teen years hit, the competing pressures of home, study, sport, screen time, and socializing is a balancing act, and reading for pleasure often declines, even in children who have previously loved reading. It is also a challenging age in terms of book choices as they begin to transition from younger reader books to middle-grade novels and young adult (YA) books. In this talk, Megan Daley walks us through the challenges and provides advice and practical strategies to support reading in the tween and teen years. This talk is suitable for parents, educators, librarians, teacher librarians, and all those interested in youth literature.
If you are a parent or educator of TEENS & TWEENS, this session is for you.
